8/20/25 - I sent my 20 year old daughter there before she went to study abroad. She got the medium knotless boho braids and said she had a great experience. Here is her review: “My hair came out exactly how I wanted it to and the process went by rather quickly. She made sure I was comfortable and had refreshments available. She overall took great care to braid my hair, I highly recommend.”

Service 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Price 🌟 🌟 Location 🌟 🌟 🌟 I paid $100 over the normal price that I usually pay where I'm from. I was in kind of a desperate situation so I just sucked it up. I must say that it was super fast service and I was very satisfied with the end results. Sarafina and I believe her assistant's name was Fatima were very friendly. Although I paid more than what I wanted, I did give an extra tip because I was late for my appointment due to matters beyond my control and it was after the time that she usually accepts customers. Located inside salon boutique which was a little bit difficult to find because there isn't any type of signage outside the establishment. Overall, I would definitely recommend Sarafina.

Sarafina was amazing, I called her at 11 am asking if she had any availability and she was able to take me the same day at 2pm. This was my first time getting any kind of twists done. I was unsure of doing it the crochet method, but she showed me pictures of her work so I knew exactly what to expect. She was super quick, it took 2 hours. She was super friendly and it was a painless install. I got to watch Netflix while we made great conversation and ended up with a beautiful result. I will definitely be coming back!

My name is Jasmine G. 1st photo is from the hair booking site. These are advertised as small box braids. I received small box braids with boho extensions. I received services yesterday at Sarafina African hair braiding. A braid professional did my hair. She was hard-working and never took a break. The braided professional was not Sarafina. She was busy braiding another client’s hair. The result was beautiful. I received a different style than that client. I opted for the Boho look. I purchased my own human hair for the curls from Remy co in Tempe. The amount was approximately $116. The waist length Boho style was $380. The establishment was clean, they provided snacks, and the restroom was two doors down (this is a plus for me). I gave five stars because of the cleanliness of the suite, the snacks they provided, And because of my braiders hard work. Not only did she work hard, but the actual braid with the curls inserted, was very beautiful. The only negative is after I got home and began separating the braids to see why the look was so thin, I noticed the box or plait pattern for each braid was not uniformly small like what is presented at the top of my head. It gives the appearance of a big box with a little braid coming out. My hair is thin and my head is small so it doesn’t look right from the front. It only looks right in a ponytail. Or if I pull it all over my shoulders. Although $380 is not much to some people, that combined with $116 I paid for human hair extensions, then subsequently going online to order more human hair extensions the next day (today), for an additional $106, is way too much in my opinion for a hairstyle that will probably only last less than two months. So, I recommend going to the salon first, speaking to the hairdresser or braid professionals, picking out the hair color and braid style you want, as well as figuring out if you want human hair extensions to create the boho look. Let them know as they braid if the box/plaits are not consistent with the look you are going for. I would recommend this place to all to support small business, just make sure you are vocal throughout the process of what you want. Also, keep in mind, small braids may not be the small braids in the picture that is posted on the booking site.
